Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to traditional music, old boleros and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is passionate about opera and tangos, and any dramatic performance. Ana started learning how to sing and play music from an early age, along with her mother. She received more formal training in singing at the age of 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca in the School of Sacred Music. In her early career, she was spent performing with various chamber ensembles and opera choruses and chamber groups in Guadalajara. When she moved into the United States in 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before shifting to her place in the southern part of California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist in traditional Latin American music at private performances. as a music teacher and musician, she is committed to many projects in the community because of her love and passion for music. Ana was a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher in The Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to encourage younger generations to preserve the traditions.
